My God is Great!

Our desire is that this would be the heartbeat for all the children at Excell Baptist Church. When they come to church, we pray that they will learn about God...who He is, what He has done, why it matters in their young lives. And more importantly, we pray that they would not just know things about God, but that they would come to know God Himself in a personal and saving way. 

Curriculum

Each age level has a curriculum that has been chosen specifically for that age range. Not all classes are currently using the same curriculum, as each has its strengths and weaknesses for different levels. The materials used are chosen for their strengths for that particular age range.

  • The Infant Nursery - This class uses a curriculum published by Truth:78 entitled "A Sure Foundation". Our desire is that the children who attend the nursery at Excell would not only be cared for in a loving and safe environment, but that they would also begin to have a foundation laid for them. A foundation built on the truths of who God is and what He has done. The children will learn simple Bible stories, learn simple memory verses, and be prayed for intentionally each week. As a solid foundation is laid for them, the hope is that one day it will give them a rock on which to steady their lives. The world will shake them, but a life steadied on the truth of God's character will surely be a strong and steady anchor.
  • 3-6 year olds -  This class uses a curriculum published by Great Commission Publications entitled "Show Me Jesus". This program is designed specifically for young children to teach them about God in a way that is relatable for their level of development. The stories and lessons build during each quarter around a particular theme, all while pointing the children to Jesus.
  • 1st-6th grade - This class uses a curriculum published by Lifeway entitled "The Gospel Project". This curriculum covers the entire narative of the Bible. It shows how the Bible is not just a book made up of many unrelated stories, but rather, it is one big story...God's story of redemption and His revelation of Himself to us. This curriculum encourages transformation of the heart, and it helps children grow by using materials that are doctrinally sound and thorough.

SUNDAY

Sunday School

  • Ages: Infant - 6th Grade
  • Time: 9:00-9:45 AM weekly, except for months when there are five Sundays. On the 5th sunday of the month, the church gathers for a churchwide fellowship meal during the Sunday School hour.

Worship Hour 

  • Ages: Infant - 5 years old
  • Time: 10:00-11:15 AM weekly
