Maundy Thursday
24 Hours of Prayer

Excell Baptist will pray for 24 straight hours starting at 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 28.  As a church, we will petition, ask, seek, and beg for God's Kingdom to come and God's will be done in Excell Baptist, our community and our city.

Jesus asked for His followers to pray for His Kingdom to come on earth.  We are to pray so that what happens here and now reflects the reality of what is taking place in heaven here and now.  Jesus said in John 15:7, "If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you."

So, we are going to believe what Jesus said and trust in His promises as His people pray.  As we seek the Lord for 24 straight hours, we will seek Jesus's will for ourselves, our church, our neighbors and our community.  We will pray for the blessing and peace of our city while listening to what Jesus has to say to us.

We are asking for Excell to sign up to pray for one hour over that 24 hour period.  We know that sounds like a daunting task.  In order to help you to pray for that period of time, we have available a prayer guide to aid you in your prayer time.  Dr. Al Hodges has developed this prayer aid based upon the Lord's Prayer in Matthew 6:5-14.  There is a link below that you can download either to you phone or to print.

Let's pray with expectation.  Let's pray with anticipation.  Let's pray seeking the Lord's will and His Kingdom to come.
